India: Kesar tickles US, UK taste buds

India’s experiment of exporting Kesar mango to the US and UK via sea has proved successful, with the consignments to these countries

reaching safely early this month. With the learning of the need for a better packaging, Apeda (Agriculture Processed Foods Export Development Authority) is now gearing up for the next season of mangoes. It is in discussions with Sainsbury’s, one of the top three retail chains in UK, for marketing the mangoes in the UK.
